Department of Humanities & Sciences

The study of humanities and sciences has played an important role in the education of engineers throughout the world. The engineer would be eventually called upon not merely to solve technical problems but to frame policy, manage human resources and lead organizations. In order to do these myriad tasks successfully, students had to be exposed to the vagaries of human nature. The humanities and social sciences set themselves the task of acquainting the student with all that makes him or her human.

In accordance with JNTU curriculum, The department of Humanities and Sciences (H & S) was established in the year 2001,the year of inception of Balaji Institute of Technology & Science, Narsampet. The Dept plays a unique role teaching very essential non-technical subjects to the students pursuing various professional courses in the institute. The main focus is on communication in scientific and business contexts Department of Humanities and Sciences comprises of four branches of study namely English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. Well-experienced and highly qualified faculty members offer consistent strenuous efforts to improve Teaching-Learning processes. The predominant objective is to impart quality education and enhance the placement opportunities of our students.

The department plays a vital and an instrumental role in moulding the students from the first year itself. The objective of the department is to prepare students to face challenges in a globalised world by imparting intensive training in English Language and Communication Skills, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry that will help them apply their core knowledge to related fields. Students are given training in areas like Verbal Ability, Group Discussions, Resume Writing, Interview Techniques, Quantitative Aptitude, etc to make them ready for Campus Placements.

Essential and fundamental Knowledge related to competitive exams like TOEFL, GRE,IELTS and CAT is also imparted to students to enable them to face cut throat competitive world. The Department offers regular courses in English for Communication to the students of B.Tech and Business Communication & Soft skills to the students of MBA programs besides courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences for B.Tech, M.B.A, B.Pharmacy and Nursing Courses.

Under this Department, well equipped Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab and English Language Laboratories (ELCS & AECS Labs)are established to conduct prescribed experiments and to cater to the needs of practical knowledge of the students. The licensed Software Hi-Class is used for English Language communication skill slab. The department organizes various literary and cultural competitions in Debate, Elocution, Essay Writing, General Quiz etc. on the occasions such as Independence Day and Republic day to bring out the latent talents of the students.
